Grade 3 Cross Country Run: Friday, September 20th
The annual cross country run for all Gr. 3 students will take place on the Millenium Field and the Hub East and Hub West again this year. The run occurs on Friday, September 20. The Gr. 3 classes will run from 9:35 until 10:30 based on age/gender.
The students do a 1000 m cross country run that takes them from the Millenium Field, up Taylor Mountain, west of the hospital, west past the arena, across Hub West, past the Nature Park at the Hub, along the walking path and back to the Millenium Field. It’s a challenging but attainable course that usually takes students no more than 15 minutes to walk and far less time to jog.
The Gr. 3 students will be walking from the school at about 9:15 to allow time for a walk-through at 9:35. We ask that the volunteers for the run arrive about 9:00 am so that they can be assigned positions and briefed on their duties during the run.
The cost is $0 for students. Students should bring a water bottle for after their run. Washrooms will be available at the school as required, but the students will remain on Millenium Field for the duration of their run. Don’t forget to dress for the weather. It’s fall after all.
If you have any questions regarding the run or the day of the run in general, please contact Cory Hegland at the school, 345-2403. If you are able to volunteer, please email me at cory.hegland@pallisersd.ab.ca and I will reply with the information you will need. Thanks for your support in this valuable curricular excursion!
