It was announced at the October assembly that Jennie Emery would be taking part in ‘Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes’. It has been tradition to take part in this meaningful project, but this year they will be sent to 14 different countries, including one that the grade 3s learn about later in the year-Ukraine!

Maps of Canada will be sent along with the shoeboxes to show the children from those countries where the boxes have come from.

A big change to the rules of ‘Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes’ is that candy and any food in general is not allowed to be donated. However, the ‘Coaldale Food Bank’ will gladly accept anything that you cannot include in the boxes, e.i. candy, canned foods, or even fresh food. Also, no used items may be sent to the children.

It is very exciting to take part in this project, because you have no idea who will receive your donation. Nevertheless, you will just be able to feel the thanks from some lucky child washing over you, and you will be happy that you took part in ‘Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes’.

You can pack your donations in a plastic box or pick up at box from the office. Remember NO candy!

All Christmas boxes have to be in by November 16th!

Every student who donates to the less fortunate will experience such a wonderful Christmas feeling. Jennie Emery will be able to make a difference, but we are always looking for more donations!
